I need some suggestions for new fragrance for my husband who is a die hard Bandit Lover. He has wanted to wear this almost exlusivley since he discovered it after trying my womens sample a generous pol er sent me a couple years ago. He wears the Mens Bandit now and loves it. Sometime ago I had asked for suggestions and Jeffery recommeded Yatagan which hubs does wear now also. He also wears Joop which is totally different from Bandit and I love that one on him. The other night at Macy's, I tried having him sniff some fragrances including the new Polo Double Black which I think is wonderful. Nope- nothing was "strong or long lasting" enough for him. I can relate- I also like fragrances that are long lasting and not light. Jeffery- or any of you other guys- any other suggestions? I would like him to venture out a bit more in mixing up his collection.

Have you tried Lolita Lempicka pour Homme?

One scent I find somewhat in the Bandit family (actually shares many similar notes) is Van Cleef and Arpels pour Homme, a leather chypre that came out in the 80s and is still available. I wore it a lot when it came out and smelled it again recently and would have bought it if I didn't have quite a lot of Bandit already.
Another I would suggest is also a chypre, herbal with a hint of leather: Derby by Guerlain (available in the "Les Parisiennes" line). Different enough to Bandit to add to any collection: a fabulous composition with a very interesting development -- there is a hint of white floral (jasmine, tuberose), clove and carnation in the heart notes.
It also layers fabulously to add a certain sharp kick to women's scents.
Finally, not exactly in the same style but it would appeal to a Bandit lover: Bulgari Black. Someone described it on a blog as powder spilled in a rubber glove. Lovely, unusual Lapsang-Souchong smoky note that smells almost like rubber, wrapped in tonk bean and vanilla. Hazier than Bandit (it doesn't have that galbanum kick to it) but very appealing in a off-beat way.
And let me add that your husband has got pretty amazing taste!

I think he might like Hermès Bel Ami.

Wonderful suggestions here. Fiveoaks, I remember now he has Bel Ami and likes that one also. The Derby and Bvlgari Black sound wonderful and I will have to look at the notes for Lolita Lempicka Pour Homme- I love the womens. I will see if I can find any of these locally or maybe online. Thanks so much.

Le 3eme Homme

Let me get this straight. He had the temerity to try a sample of a "women's" perfume that you had, and now wears Bandit among others, such classics as Yatagan, Joop!(not clear if this is the Homme version or the feminine version from your post), and Bel Ami--and you want him to VENTURE OUT A BIT MORE?
He's already way past what most guys will ever wear!!!
But ok. Here are two suggestions for lasting and strong fragrances:
Etro Ambra and Knize Ten.

Oh yes, Knize Ten, how could I ever forget it? Just such an utterly, rigorously classic leather.
You could also try Creed's Cuir de Russie or Tabarome.

Thanks so much for these suggestions- some of these I am not familiar with but will try to check them out.

I would get him to try out Tabac Blond Caron in the EDT. He might like it. It's rather unisex.

Hmm, the question is, which part of Bandit is it he's looking for? For the leather base I think we're covered. As to the floral heart, look no further then Floris Malmaison!

Serge Lutens cuir mauresque lasts for ever and a sweeter leather than bandit but still miles away from the usual male perfumes .
